Green Tourism | Lodges at the Mains are architect-designed 5 Star Highland eco lodges and the last word in luxury.

The luxury eco lodges are an ideal retreat for those looking for a slice of relaxation and tranquillity, tailor-made for 2 people in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. The lodges are adult only and no pets allowed.

Both luxury eco lodges boast fully-equipped solid oak kitchens, spacious lounge areas, wood-burners, multi-room sound systems, exquisite soft furnishings and bespoke furniture made by local craftsmen. A ground source heating pump, solar panels, cellulose insulation and careful sourcing and use of local natural materials made by local craftsmen helps reduce the carbon footprint of the building but at no cost to comfort.

A fantastic hamper is provided on arrival, with a range of delicious local produce such as Orkney cheese, Scottish smoked salmon and freshly laid eggs.

The Lodges are located within walking distance of many accessible trails, excellent walks and cycle routes including the North Coast 500 (Scotland’s answer to route 66) and further afield the beach at Nairn and forest at Culbin. Their secluded location is ideal for nature lovers with binoculars, wildlife guides and a bird hide provided for guests. Nature abounds with bird and squirrel feeders and boxes throughout the 1000 native trees that have been planted by the owners.

The Lodges at the Mains are located within reach of Loch Ness, the Moray Coast, Cairngorms National Park and picturesque Speyside and benefit from being only a few miles from Inverness Airport.

The local area is rich in history and offers some of the most stunning scenery anywhere in the world. The lodges are an excellent base to explore Speyside’s Malt Whisky Trail which starts at Benromach continuing east to Dallas Dhu, Glen Moray, Cardhu, Glenlivet, Glen Grant, Speyside Cooperage, Glenfiddich and Strathisla.

The Lodges at the Main are members of IL partners Green Tourism and have held a prestigious Gold award since 2011. Lodges at the Mains, has a prestigious Gold Green Tourism Award to reflect their commitment to sustainability.
